Direct Enrollment Scholar Program
Program Purpose and Overview
The Direct Enrollment Program at EMPACT Academy for Leadership is designed for full-time scholars who are officially enrolled in the Academy as their primary educational institution. These students are part of the Academy’s academic, behavioral, and social community and are held to the full standards of EMPACT’s excellence, leadership, and character expectations.
The purpose of the Direct Enrollment Program is to:

Provide a comprehensive academic education aligned with North Carolina’s standards.

Develop scholars who embody leadership, excellence, and integrity in every area of life.

Integrate hands-on learning, project-based experiences, and community engagement.

Prepare students for success in college, career, and character.
Enrollment Status
Direct Enrollment Scholars are official students of EMPACT Academy for Leadership.
They are:

Listed on the Academy’s student roster and official enrollment records.

Eligible to receive grades, transcripts, progress reports, and academic recognition.
-
Subject to all Academy policies, expectations, and codes of conduct.
-
Included in all internal assessments, benchmarks, and progress monitoring.

Represented in all Academy-sanctioned events, clubs, sports, and organizations.

A. Curriculum Structure

The Academy follows a quad-based academic calendar (four terms per year).

Curriculum aligns with North Carolina Department of Public Instruction standards, emphasizing mastery-based learning.

Attendance and Schedule

Direct Enrollment Scholars attend class Monday through Friday according to the official Academy schedule.

Minimum attendance requirement: 90% of school days per term.

Absences must be excused with written documentation.

Repeated tardiness or absences may result in disciplinary action or academic intervention.
Tuition and Financial Policies

Tuition is determined annually and may be paid monthly, quarterly, or annually.

A $25 application fee is required at registration.

Tuition includes academic instruction, enrichment classes, and access to school events.

Late payments may result in a temporary suspension of participation in classes or activities.

Financial assistance or scholarships may be available for qualifying families.

Academic Accountability
Direct Enrollment Scholars are expected to:

Complete all assigned classwork, projects, and assessments.

Maintain minimum academic standards as outlined by the Academy.

Attend tutoring or intervention sessions if performance falls below grade level.

Abide by the Academic Integrity Policy (no plagiarism, cheating, or dishonesty).
Behavioral Expectations

All scholars are expected to demonstrate respect, responsibility, and self-discipline.

Uniform and dress code compliance is mandatory daily.

Behavior infractions are addressed using a tiered disciplinary process:

Direct Enrollment Scholars are eligible to participate in:

Clubs and Organizations (STEM, Arts, Debate, Community Service, etc.)

Sports and Extracurricular Activities

Annual Events such as Homecoming, Book Fair, Science Fair, and Youth Business Expo

Community Service and Leadership Projects through EMPACT’s civic initiatives
Participation is contingent upon academic standing and behavioral conduct.
IX. Parent and Family Partnership

Parents are partners in the scholar’s academic journey.

Family engagement includes quarterly Learning Team Meetings, volunteer opportunities, and participation in school events.

Parents receive regular communication through the Academy’s portal, newsletters, and progress reports.

Families are expected to uphold the Academy’s values and policies.
X. Evaluation and Advancement

Scholars are evaluated each quarter on academic performance, conduct, and attendance.

Promotion to the next grade is based on mastery of content standards, assessment results, and staff recommendations.

High-performing students may qualify for accelerated learning opportunities or leadership roles.
XI. Graduation and Recognition
Scholars who complete all academic and behavioral requirements are eligible for promotion and graduation ceremonies.

Graduates of EMPACT Academy for Leadership receive an official diploma and transcript.
XII. Withdrawal or Transfer Policy

Parents must submit a written withdrawal notice at least 10 business days in advance.

All financial obligations must be settled prior to transcript release.

Records will be transferred to the new institution upon request and completion of release forms.

XIV. Summary
Direct Enrollment Scholars are fully integrated members of the EMPACT Academy community. They are expected to represent the Academy with excellence, integrity, and pride both inside and outside the classroom. The Academy is committed to nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually (if applicable)—to prepare them for lifelong leadership and success.
